Product testing, the honest way

How to become an Amazon product tester

Amazon's own tester program is invite-only. Here's how it works, how to avoid fake tester jobs, and how to try new products free after cash back.

1. Amazon Vine: invite only

Amazon Vine is Amazon's official product testing program. Amazon invites shoppers whose reviews others find helpful, and members get free products to review. There is no application: the best you can do is write honest, detailed reviews of things you buy and hope for an invite.

2. Avoid fake “product tester” jobs

Paid reviews break Amazon's rules, and many “tester jobs” are scams that ask you to pay a deposit or buy crypto to unlock earnings. Scammers have even used our name. Read our scam warning.

3. Try products free after cash back

On Snagshout, brands launching new products pay you back some or all of the price. You buy with your own Amazon account, send your receipt, and get cash back. No Amazon review required.

  • Free to join, and you never pay Snagshout
  • Some deals are 100% free after cash back
  • Some ask for a short survey, photo or video for the brand
  • Running since 2014

How Snagshout works

  1. Step 1

    Snag a deal

Pick a product and press Snag. Joining is free.

  2. Step 2

    Buy and send your receipt

Buy it at the store on the deal, usually Amazon, with your own account. Then forward the order email to the address we give you.

  3. Step 3

    Get your cash back

Once approved (up to 35 days), cash out to a Visa or gift card, or to PayPal.

Product tester questions

How do I become an Amazon product tester?

Amazon's own program, Amazon Vine, is invite-only: Amazon picks reviewers whose reviews other shoppers find helpful, and you can't apply. Outside Vine, the legitimate way to try new products cheaply is a cash back site like Snagshout, where brands pay you back some or all of the price.

Can I get paid to test Amazon products?

Not for reviews. Amazon doesn't allow reviews in exchange for money or free products, outside of Vine. On Snagshout you get cash back for buying a product. Some deals also ask for a short survey, photo or video for the brand. Amazon reviews are never required or rewarded.

Are Amazon product tester jobs real?

Be careful. Offers that pay you to rate products, complete order tasks, or ask you to deposit money or buy crypto first are scams. Snagshout never offers jobs and never asks you to pay us.

Do I have to write a review on Snagshout?

Not for Amazon products. Amazon reviews are never required or rewarded. Some cash back deals for products sold on other stores ask for an honest review, and the deal says so before you snag it.

Is Snagshout part of Amazon?

No. Snagshout is an independent deals site, running since 2014. You buy on Amazon with your own account, and Snagshout pays your cash back.

How do I get paid?

Once your order is approved (up to 35 days), cash out to a card (Virtual Visa, Amazon gift card or 600+ other gift cards) or to PayPal.
